Maritime Fuel Cell Generator

Maritime Fuel Cell Generator is the first-of-its kind hydrogen fuel cell power generator for marine applications was designed, built, and demonstrated in Hawaiʻi by Sandia National Laboratories. HCATT supported the project by providing the 100 kW fuel cell generator with hydrogen fuel produced from our renewable hydrogen station at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Technical Specs
Model analysis validated in field experiment testing showed ~30% energy efficiency gain over diesel engine at part loads.

The maritime fuel cell generator is currently being field tested at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego for cold ironing application.
